Harlow Cricket Club runs a vibrant Colts section where both boys and girls aged 5 and above are invited to join.
The Club is totally committed to the development of youth cricket at Club, West Essex & County level.
It was one of the first clubs in the county to achieve Sport England Clubmark accreditation in 2003 for its work with children and young people.
The Club has an excellent youth coaching programme which encourages young players, to learn & practice the specific skills required for the game in a enjoyable but structured way.
One principle objective of the Colts is to develop young people in order that they play senior cricket in some way whether for Harlow or another club during their adult lives. However, this is predicated on providing those young people with an enjoyable, pleasant and rewarding experience.
The Club aims to play competitive cricket and everyone has to earn the right to be selected for a team.
WEDCB matches are played on a Sunday morning and mid-week in the evenings. There are match fees of £2
Brian Taylor Trophy and Trevor Bailey Matchplay matches are usually Sunday afternoon matches. A match fee covers the cost of tea between each innings.
The Club fields’ junior teams at Under 9, 10, 11, 12 13, 15 and 16 age groups.
Coaching Evenings:
All Colts: Thursday evenings 5.30pm—8.00pm
Families are encouraged to enjoy the Club’s facilities both during junior matches and training sessions or whenever the Clubhouse is open for senior matches.
